….he might have been just the type to come off the bench and make a difference but the whole set-up is reactionary rather than fresh, innovative and progressive.

No big issue bringing him in, but the major gaff as selling Digne. Amazing that some posters rejoiced at that move, mind you they were the same ones who idolised Benitez.

The number of folk who thought Digne wasn’t very good and made sense to sell really was amazing. I expect decisions like that from the club but the number right people that backed it was surprising. What a massive error. If we go down that’ll have a lot to do with it.

….DCL gets on the end of things, you need players with the ability to put the ball in the right areas for him (and Richarlison to a lesser extent).

Selling Digne was ludicrous, it like taking the bullets out of your rifle. One stubborn man is Benitez, his ego more important than our club. I am in no doubt the decisions to appoint Benitez and sell Digne turned us from mid-table mediocracy to relegation candidates. Benitez in particular soured the club.

100%.

Meanwhile we’ve got people in the Richardson/DCL threads clamouring to sell them in the summer as they’re not very good either apparently…nothing to do with the lack of service having lost James, Siggi and Digne without adequately replacing.

Our two or three good players are surrounded by crap and people blame them for not looking like world beaters and want them sold. Sell good players, replace with worse players, keep the crap already in the squad and folk wonder why we’re getting worse not better…same as with Digne.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but for Benetiz to fall out with arguably two of our better players and move them on (James and Digne) it really does make you wonder if he had an agenda when got here.

If we go down the blame lies slowly at the door of benetiz and even more so Moshiri, for hiring him in the first place and not sacking him immediately after the Watford game.

I think digne could have been replaced we just messed it up again.

Why did we sign him just asking like ,is he working in the canteen needed someone just asking like. Villa are bang average and we sign a player not in their plans ffs we're nuts.
el gordo thought he was buying a fellow Spaniard,

You mean, like naff us up and get rich doing it. Gasp! Surely not. The man was a tactical genius with a comprehensive dossier on each and every player in the world. Others as well.
Pity the only thing he could read was a menu.
