problem is, its tomorrow morning at 10am so bit late to do anything, best to wait and see whats said..

my mum is a very negative person, and she says that i shouldnt have chased her (i turned around and pulled into the car park she was in).. and that i should have just wrote her reg down and drove off...

but in the real world that doesnt happen, she got out the car so i asked her what her problem is..

im going to go in their tomorrow, try and calm down and see what happens

10am on a Sunday? Hmm. Might be worth keeping your cool and staying shush until you can get legal representation. That's not to imply any guilt on your behalf but it sounds like these chaps are trying to nail you for something or other.

I agree. If they can stitch you up for something they will. Police are classic for closing ranks for one of their own.

Don't do anything without legal advice or a solicitor present.

do you want the fight or not?

anyway he said the options where

he could lock me up
give me points on my licence
give me an asbo
give me a section 59
take me to court
or do nothing

''then you say, excuse me mr officer, can i have those options in writing please signed and dated by you and your superior.''

then you say

''i have contacted my solicitor, please do not phone this number to harass and threaten me again''

simply put jon, if you had friends in the car that would make fine witnesses and you yourself have no criminal record and a fully clean licence, then get stuck in.

its a shame you dont have a recording of the comment about who a court would believe, you or him (the officer) as he wasnt at the scene, and has no tangible evidence.

do you have a solicitor?

as your going in tomorrow morning, remember, you dont have to say anything.

its unlikely they are going to caution or arrest you, and if they do you then have time to confer with your legal representative before they can question you.

dont be brash, but dont get bullied either.

"i'd like that in writing please mr officer" is worth keeping in mind for if they start being aggressive.

the pub car park, was/is it well lit? does she need glasses to read/drive? was she wearing them?

bit concerned about your bit about the gravel on the car park, sounds a bit like your saying you may have purposefully given it a bit of wheel spin just to make a point.

dont mention the gravel, wheel spin, road integrity, or any other specific technicality.

dont get drawn into giving a second by second commentary of the events.

Injustice. The smelling salts that awoke Suits from his slumber.

im going back to bed, still a bit whiffy round here.

police taking the piss is a bit of a 'pet hate' having dealt with a spectrum of police from the nice and noble to the belligerent and bullying.

jon - do you have her licence plate number? and can you find out who she is and her connection to the police? sister/wife/in law of a cop. because if you can get a connection between her and the cop threatening you then there are possible grounds for dereliction of duty/ abuse of position/ harassment.

clean licence (although points where on it back in 2002) and no criminal record..

the car park is badly lit, but enough to be able to see people etc... just like street lamps etc.

i am going to go in with the approach of chilled instead of angry which i was when they first phoned,

the gravel thing is because she said i screeched towards her, no i didnt i turned my car around and she was walking away, i turned it around 180 degrees the other direction and she was walking away 90 degree from it...

i wont mention it though, because i didnt drive dangerously and im certainly not going to get in trouble for it as i didnt

dont have a solicitor and hoping i wont need one, but if it comes to the crunch i will have too.. thanks for advise guys.. lets hope they aint cocks

didnt get a reg plate... i said my piece and kind of expected that to be the end of it !!!

from what i can tell she is a colleague... the police also told my dad that she was an advanced driver , so i dont see why she was driving so badly???

screeched toward her?

screeching makes a sound, anybody hear anything?

if you had witnesses in the car, it could be worth mentioning it, but when asked, dont give the names over, say that in light of your being harassed you have asked them to consult their solicitors and so it wouldnt be proper for you to give the police information they could use to harass some other victims.

in future, anyone tailgating you, slow down to 5 mph. if they want to go so fast they are prepared to break the law, purposefully slow them down and really take the piss. if you get called on it, its a simple case of ''in such a situation, the slower the safer you honour"

thats interesting, shes an advanced driver is she, well, your dad is a witness to that comment, i wonder if she really is or could it have been a lie to infer that she has professional opinion on her side and that her word is law.

bet shes an addict and was desperate to pick up her next fix. skank.

Scanning through the webpage I linked Jon it sounds like you are duty bound to be provided with a lawyer should you request one. They mention free a lot, I can't vouch for accuracy but it's worth keeping in mind.

It might simply be a case of stating that you don't feel you acted inappropriately and if they intend to charge you for anything ask for a lawyer to be present and leave it at that. Don't say anything, don't sign anything and ask for written evidence of anything they say/do.

And whatever you do, don't take a gun with you. They don't like it.

Should be fine though, as someone said earlier, sounds like they want to scare you a bit for having a go at a mate.
