Jon, Please don't take this the wrong way, BUT. I find it hilarious that not only does someone request sensible advice in here, but actually expects to get it.

Until yesterday when some arl **** decided to follow me everywhere cus i gave him a few beeps and i gave him the runabout.

Was stopped at a red light and he got out his car and i pissed off.

Right ill brief you with the story !!

Wednesday night, probably about 10/11 pm i was down in connahs quay with my girlfriend and her mate and was heading back to my girlfriends house, and this black corsa with a single female in the car started driving up my arse up wepre lane (windy lane quite narrow)

she was driving very very close, in fact i couldnt see her headlights for about 1/2 a mile so i put my fog light on and off briefly just to kind of say, back off !!! because i didnt want to speed up and she was driving dangerously close

anway she briefly backed off then came again very very close again and continued tailgating, i got to a junction and stopped, turned around in the car and put my hands up and said "what ????" obviously she couldnt hear me but she knew what i meant...

i drove off and again she continued before she turned into a pub, so i turned around a bit further up the road, and drove in.

sat in the car and opened the window and waited for her to get out, when she did i asked her what her problem is and why she was driving so close up my arse... she said she wasnt... and i just said... yeh you was i couldnt even see your lights... and she said no i wasnt and just walked off..

at this point i had to do a U turn to get out of the car park, i drove out and because of loose stones as i had full lock on obviously some usual gravel noise was made as the car turned on them... she turned around as i did this...


anyway today my dad got a knock by 2 police cars... asking for me!! and saying it was a friend of their and that i was being threatening , acting like a gangster and driving dangerously.

he gave them my mobby number, and then rang me once they left.. i wanted to get in touch asap with them so called the local station but no record was on file etc..

anyway they finally phoned and saying he was rude was an understatement... he accused me of being a bad driver, said i was threatening, told me i should have continued on driving and increased the distance between the 2 cars (how????)..

he wouldnt listen to what i had to say and said i have to come to the station in the morning to have a talk and listen to my options, i asked what they might be and he wouldnt tell me until later on in the phone call..

i tried to advise him of my point of view but he wasnt interested to be honest, and even when i managed to tell him, he said i broke the law because i turned around and went back to approach her!! i should have reported her (but how could i get the reg plate, it was 2 close???)

anyway he said the options where

he could lock me up
give me points on my licence
give me an asbo
give me a section 59
take me to court
or do nothing

i said, but i have done nothing wrong other than ask what her problem was.. and he said, its not what she says, and who would the court believe a member of public or a police officer...

anyway dunno what to do... im not willing to accept any of them concequences for something i havent done...

any advise would be brilliant ?? obviously its very biased because of work mates etc

My sister lives in Wepre. That lane is a nightmare. Its actually national speed limit in that lane, so people think that you should be driving 60mph even though its not safe to.

I would suggest get legal aid, its usually free I believe. But if this goes to court, chances of it getting far are slim. Hope you get it sorted though mate.

ok just got back now, the police station was closed and the 2 coppers invited me in, lucky for me i got the same copper that impounded my car over a year ago for not having a valid licence ( it was on the database as being revoked when it was actually valid, and i got the car back the next day) so instantly he was rude and agressive with me , and he knew it was me because my surname is unique and easily remembered.

anyway he asked for my side of the story so i told it, he then told me i was lying and i argued and said i wasnt and that i had witnesses to back me up.

i told him i was stupid going back but was upset because of the safety of myself and my gf and friend, and advised that i wasnt rude but simply asked her what she was playing at.

he then said he was in the pub waiting for her and she came in all distressed and upset, saying i drove at her, i denied this 100% and nothing more was said..

he then asked if it was a lad in the following car would i approach him, i said yes! and he said i doubt it very much..

he then went on to say can you understand why a female was distressed when 3 lads approach her in the car, i advised it was myself and 2 girls and that its a bit worrying she thought 3 lads and perhaps she was confused..

anyway he then advised he was giving me a section 59 ticket, i said i dont accept it and would like to go to court as im not guilty, and he said i have to accept it but dont have to sign for it, and if i want i can write to the courts after..

i didnt sign it

i then asked if the section 59 was based on the car reg or the person, as if i offend again in 12 months they seize my vehicle, he said he wasnt sure and didnt have time to find out, i told him this is unacceptable but he said i could call up and find out.

if its on the vehicle i wont do anything as im selling it anyway, if its the person i will be contesting it.

anyway its bullshit scare tactics, and they are mates !!! [Poor language removed] twatting police.

If you can be bothered you should kick up a fuss. Local papers etc. Police will back their own all the way, so its a dead end that way.

Yeah, _efc is an unusual surname.

clearly not aware of the full facts yet has harassed and threatened you, should have reminded him to go [Poor language removed] himself.

should have taken the ticket and then asked to see his superior - there was no official at the scene to validate any claims to justify a section 59 ticket, so this was an illegal act, and hopefully should see him removed from the police force for abuse of position.

if he isnt sure of the stipulations surrounding the ticket, what is he issuing it for?

if all you have written is the 100% truth, then you seem to have a case for being harassed and threatened. the problem is, once the police force get you in their sights the will continue to look for you in future. its their job so to speak.

did you take his name and officer number? there is a service called the police complaints commission. (or something similar) prick bullies like this only know and understand one thing - punishment. go after him.
