Anyone else feeling damn positive?!

The term a win is a win only holds so much water. The norwich game was comfortable but the fine line at how some people will class a game stood out after that. A set piece goal changed how many would have posted their views. When the reality is we struggled in open play against a side bottom and even rested 3 of their best players for the united cup game.
Truth is about 80% of other away games in this league that inability to score in open play against a poor side wouldnt have been good enough. We all know it.
Not kidding myself. A lot of this squad needs replacing if we are not content in sitting around 10th-13th in the table.
As much as I believe that the club needed a unifying presence in the dugout, it doesn't change the fact that it'll eventually turn sour if we don't see at least a handful of very good players coming through the door this summer. Of course, Ancelotti's stature would encourage the fans to stick with him through difficult times, but the resentment will manifest all the same; it'll just be the board and the players bearing the brunt of it this time.

To me, the only worthwhile target right now is Champions League football, and there's no way that this squad is getting anywhere fourth place.

Perhaps you can read that post again.

Not really no, we've got a good manager but good managers are no guarantee of anything, countless things will have to all come together perfectly for us to challenge for top 4 and chances of that happening are very slim regardless of who our manager is.

Liverpool. City, Chelsea, United.

No way are we overtaking any of them anytime in the next few years barring some kind of miracle.

I’m not positive. We’ve got a good manager but not even prime Alex Ferguson does much with this squad.

We need 8 players. At least. On top of that I’d like us to sell 90% of the squad. And neither is happening. So it’s going to be a very long and stressful summer.

We'll be top of the league in April 2021 when the COVID second wave hits and this time, the Premier League decides to cancel the 2020/21 season.

You know it to be true.

It's clear to see we've got a great manager and without doubt he got us over the line today.

It does have to be said though. We have a habit of going on these runs towards the end of the season, when the pressure is off.

Def more positive feelings. But underlying frustrations as well that we couldn’t get someone like Ancelotti in earlier when some of the ‘bigger’ sides were struggling.

You look at the improvements that United and Chelsea have made going into next season, and you think where we could have been if Ancelotti was in from the start of this season.

We definitely need to invest in some quality of the summer - especially in the midfield and wide areas - in order to compete for top six next year.
