Smart move. Training carries on uninterrupted for the only real game in town: the derby.

He has lost the excuse that they didn't have enough time to focus on the derby due to the midweek game. Going all in. I like that but the result has to reflect the extra work. I don't mean draw or win but keep the scoreline (very) respectable.

He stabbed Ranieri in the back I'm guessing?

I heard Shakespeare did a lot of the midweek training with Walsh at Leicester during the league winning season as Ranieri was going home to Italy to care for his sick mother, so maybe the chairman felt he deserved the job because of this. Shakespeare denied having any hand in Ranieri getting the chop too.

Allardyce staying home is fantastic news IMO, couldn't care less who does the presser as I will not be watching it or the game on Thursday.

Personally I'd go for a mix of the fringe seniors and u23 prospects. I'd probably go something like this. And I'd have Hornby, Lavery, Gibson, Charsley, Sambou, Bowler, Gordon, and Mampala on the bench, and bring on 3 of them in the 2nd half. I'm only putting Jags in there for a little leadership and to get him some fitness. I wouldn't waste one player that even has a hope of getting on the pitch against the RS.
