I've been in that directors box for matches. It is heavily stewarded. They're not in high viz jackets, but they're there and they're all wearing comms devices and keep a close eye on what goes on. (I saw a box guest get dragged away by stewards earlier this season for asking Alex Ferguson for a photograph. It was during the match and he was clearly annoyed, but it's a real example of the stewarding in that area)
Besides the doors at the back leading to the lounges, you have (from memory) two small gates on each side towards the back set into the waist height wall that surrounds the whole area. The seats to the left of the directors box are also lounge members/players guests - Hardly hoodlums out to attack a director. Seating to the right is general seating.
Denise sits in the 2nd or 3rd seat from the middle and has about 12 seats to her right before you get to that wall. I'd say it's almost impossible for a fan to get to her, put her in a headlock and get away with it.
If it was somebody sat in the directors box the club will know EXACTlY who it was. Similarly, if it was in a lounge post match the club will know EXACTLY who's in there and CCTV would be readily available.
She then goes down the stairs or the lift to the main reception and either walks internal corridors or out onto pitch side, then out around the back of the Park End with an escort. If she asks her driver to bring her car to main reception there's plenty of police and stewards present.
It didn't happen. I say that with 99.99% certainty.
Yep, so if that's the case the club should release a statement to that effect.
"We have seen stories in the media regarding our CEO being involved in a serious assault. Everton FC would like to go on the record that whilst emotions have been running high due to recent results, this is untrue.
Our club security team is in constant dialogue with Merseyside police to ensure that everybody can attend a football match at Goodison Park without fear for their own personal safety blah blah blah"
Sadly, this story has come from a TRUSTED club source. (the BBC wouldn't run the headlock story from some random staff on payroll) A trusted source for off the pitch matters would be media department. Who's in the media dept and drinks Kenwrights piss for a pat on the head? Prenno.
