Everton to review security after threat to directors' safety at Southampton game

Everton are reviewing all their security measures after the club's board of directors missed Saturday's game against Southampton because of threats to their safety.

Quite extraordinary how they've worded that. "Club sources" yet Merseyside police had no Intel or reports of threats from the club.

I was thinking about this.
On the one hand, the club is on high alert because they claim directors cars were jostled and spat at after brighton.
On the other hand, the players arrived by coach but were let leave by car while there were still plenty of angry fans outside.
Not excusing fans behavior but is it not straight forward to load players back on the same bus they came in on and bus them to their cars at Finch Farm.
Basically they put no special procedures in place for the players but did for the directors.
