Right back at you, but the opposite!
If it happened, it's very serious. The person responsible should be charged.
If it happened where the club claim it happened, they will definitely have a recording of it.
They haven't shared that recording with the police.
They haven't 'officially' made a statement about the headlock, only a club insider slipping it to Juliette Feathington of the BBC who ran with it.
I know what side of the argument I come down on.
The whole thing has blown up in their faces. Big time. This story will continue to snowball until the club either releases footage proving the incedent or say that the club insider leaked something that was either a downright lie or a vastly exaggerated story.
This last few days should be used in University teaching corporate communications as an example of how not to do it. It's up there with every tory Govt statement about the boozy parties, each utterance simply pouring more petrol on the fire.
From football royalty to an also ran to a laughing stock. One man has been present in some form throughout that decline.
He has a history of manipulating the press. Leaked club emails from years ago show they actually have a playbook for it. The difference this time is more and more fans are wise to it.
The only silver lining from of this is we won't ever see his grotesque, bloated form at Goodison ever again. It's just a real pity he's killed the Everton we know in the process.
