It was definitely toxic and I’ll believe all day if you tell me abuse was shouted at her car . I just find it so hard to believe this incident apparently occurred , went unwitnessed, went without apparent repercussion and without comment for nearly two weeks . Are there whoppers who watch Everton , absolutely. Are there people who overreact or have in the past been aggressive who watch Everton , on occasion yes . Merseyside police said there were no reports made. The athletic said in an article after the game that Everton chose not to get the police involved. I would've thought a fan getting a female employee in a headlock would be seen as a serious assault and reported immediately.

I hope the club come out and clarify why they didn't do it but thought it was ok to release it to the press (not even as a press release from the club). No evertonian condones physical violence against anyone, so it is disappointing that the club didn't see fit to publicly back the CEO and get the police involved, or at the very least ban the culprit for life.

Thing is a source could be anyone, a while ago some believed Lucas Digne was a source for the Athletic, a source can be someone who knows absolutely nothing about what's going on.

I would've expected a press release on the night saying something along the lines of "Everton football club deplores any act of violence. Especially aimed at a member of staff."

Absolutely, It never even led the story that was originally her car got spat at and surrounded or whatever and frankly I can believe that might have happened. 20 mins later we’re told it’s like a royal Rumble in the directors box , I mean I’m no expert but you lead with someone assaulting your CEO right ?
