Exactly. All this "there's no rush, the window doesn't open til July 1st" is absolute rubbish. Hasn't been true for several years.

Depends where you are. This from Wiki.

1 – 31 August Sweden, Norway
20 June – 20 July Brazil
16 July – 13 August Japan
9 July – 8 August USA/Canada
1 – 31 August Finland
9 June – 31 August Scotland
1 July – 31 August England, France, Germany, Italy, Spain,
11 June – 1 Sept Turkey, Denmark
1 June – 31 July Australia
1 – 30 June Kenya
1 – 30 June Ethiopia
11 June – 2 Sept Netherlands

'Although, in England, the transfer window formally opens on 1 July, transfers between clubs in the same association can take place as soon as the last competitive fixtures for the season have been played. However, many transfers will not be completed until 1 July because many players' contracts expire on 30 June.'

Even if those dates are correct (and I think they may well be "outdated" so to speak) it's completely irrelevant. You only have to look at the amount of business that's being done already to see that!

Yes that's why I added in the bit a the bottom. It seems that you can do business after the last competitive game as the player won't play a competitive match until the window is open anyway. Also a lot of the business already done probably is only effective from 1st July even though the player has already signed.

by teams with managers not on holiday. we nutoriously take longer than anyone else at everton - there's nothing to suggest we don't have a few deals all but done and dusted already - just waiting for martinez to come back and rubber stamp them.

i sort of see what you're saying, but i wouldn't use it as a stick to beat the club with, i'm not really arsed we don't have anyone yet - a lot of the clubs in the prem don't

It's worse than we feared......

...beyond repair.

Problems simple, we expect too much!
We expect our manager to produce a team that's equal or better than the top 3 or 5 teams with considerably less money to spend.
Not saying its impossible, but its darn difficult.
