Are you a still a football fan or solely an Evertonian these days?

I love football and love Everton.

Will always be watching a game somewhere and the only reason I haven’t watched as much this season is because the lads sky go I was using has been cancelled.

I really enjoy watching Italian and French football on a Sunday night.

I think as you get older, everything you seemed to used to enjoy becomes less enjoyable.

These debates about corruption, players cheating, the game not being as good to watch, would have been discussed in the 60s.

I do also think people pretend not to like football in a weird way.

I have mates who say they hardly watch any games outside Everton but they’re the first in the group chat when something happens in another game.

Mainly only everton now. use to watch red shi.e games until they scored or if the other team looked like winning .. dont even do that anymore … Well done to the premier league !!

I really enjoy non league football, watch a local club playing at a fairly good semi pro level.
I run my lad's junior team and play veterans football so I still bloody love the sport.
The prem is what it is - but I've never cared much for watching any other games at that level not involving Everton.
But I still love football and can't see anything changing.

Don't have the time or capacity for other football other than Everton. Very occasionally ill watch a champions league game to see how Napoli are doing but that's it

Evertonian
But I just watch non league now
Just like old togger
And more enjoyable on and off the pitch
No primma doners

I think a lot of people in general have had an attitude change to football in this country. I and I’m sure many others would watch what ever football was on. I used to love watching the champions league when it was on ITV. I know that’s years ago.

Now I couldn’t even tell you who’s playing in it. Just zero interest. And that’s not because Everton aren’t in it, just lost interest in it. It’s become about money above all else.

Now I just try and watch Everton. I say try. This might sound weird but I get bad anxiety watching Everton now if on the tele. To the point I won’t check the score until the match is over. Going the game is different as that’s more of an opportunity to spend time and do something with my dad. But yeah, football is becoming more difficult to watch and in general less interesting. For me anyway.

EVERTON FOOTBALL CLUB have told us that you are renewing with them and you'd like us to finance your service again.

How much you're borrowing
The renewal amount is £1,100.00.

Horrible, horrible Club.

I love Everton but i despise and detest the sport of football, in it's present day disgusting and corrupt form. So yeah i guess i ain't a football fan anymore.

I find GAA, Aussie Rules Football and Ice Hockey to be more entertaining sports, than football in it's current zombified/corrupt state.
Totally agree. Thank god for the gaa and six nations rugby on a Saturday evening and sunday afternoon at the minute . Find myself watching other sports more now.

I think a lot of opinions are based on age!!

Young lads don't realise how fake the whole thing is - most players care less their club than I do about my neighbour's cat!!

60 mins build up on tv isn't needed either - and games built up like the end of the world.

I think when you get to age and open your eyes to what else is going on in the world - you start to realise outside your own club who cares about transfer window deadlines and the rest of the hype [Poor language removed]. £100m for some Carlos kickaball and couple of hundred grand a week and foodbanks outside football grounds. Harry Redknapp on the radio selling viagra tablets or some sh1te cause having 20m in the bank when you are 70 yrs old isn't enough. It's just pure greed.

I'm an old cynic but it doesn't make me wrong.

Golf is another sport that can fcuk off - 300m to play LIV tour and so on......

Evertonian. Much prefer following other sports which aren't half as stressful. Cycling, winter sports and snooker as pretty much a neutral. Cricket and rugby. Enjoy when big championships like the athletics, winter and summer Olympics. My £50 yearly eurosport subscription is money well spent imo. Much rather that than spending tonnes of money a month for the various football packages. Half the content is LFCTV/MUFCTV.

The good thing is that most football is now behind a paywall. So I'm not even tempted to watch European football compared to when it all used to be on itv.

I grew up absolutely obsessed with Everton and the game in the 90s and 00s. Definitely less bothered about it now but still find myself getting suckered in far too much into something that I personally think has changed for the worse.

So many claim to be football fans these days but they're not really. They've just jumped on the popularity bandwagon and are more likely to regail you with Messi/Ronaldo stats than they are something meaningful about the club they claim to support.

Still great when you meet a proper fan from any other club. Could sit for a long time talking about past encounters with Everton and their general history. Tried to do that with a Chelsea fan from work but he couldn't remember the FA Cup Final from 2009 so that was that.

Used to watch every premier League and European game that was on TV. Then the European games stopped interesting me. Now i would watch the odd 5/10 mins of a game other than Everton. The games been killed and tbh most games are boring sideways passing. All the players are robots, coached within an inch of their lives to the point there's no characters or flair players in the game anymore. The wing wizards are dead.

I always considered myself a football fan first, then an Evertonian, nowadays such is my utter contempt for all things around the "beautiful" game and I am sure you all know what I am alluding to ,I am just an Evertonian, gone are the days I would watch other games, the commentary "bias"and situations you see occurring on a pitch when you have seen similar at our games with totally different outcomes frankly are exhausting to endure on a weekly basis. It's only the fact I know when I see it with my own eyes how wrong the whole game is from top to bottom and the fact we are still here and "kicking" back at them that keeps me going,it's horrific we have to endure the anti football we are seeing at the minute but if it sees us through to BMD it and Dyche will have served its purpose i guess, and we live in hope of a future once again befitting our wonderful club💙
Evertonian. The game is a shadow of what it was. But aa long as a team called Everton are in then so am I. No other matches though.
