I drank every night for years, did "dry January" once and lasted 5 months then dry Jan 2020 lasted 16 months. A few weekends away with the Mrs in 2021 I drank, few work nights out I drank, had a holiday recently and drank every night... now just started to trust myself to have a few beers at home without it turning into a nightly thing. There's a bit of drink/drug addiction/dependency in the family and I think I've inherited it.

Having a few tonight, UTFT!

I stopped drinking about ten years ago. I was one of those who would like a pint after work, go out at weekends but developed some anxiety and depression issues and the drink brought them out further so I stopped.
Pretty well this, been about 3 years since I've had a drop. Couldn't be arsed with the crippling anxiety for days after a session.

I probably drink a bit more than I should but I've known when to knock it on the head for many years now. I just get up and leave the pub when I've had enough. I don't actually like being really, really slaughtered. I'm a bit of a puker.
I only tend to drink at the weekend though, although I might have the odd drop of whisky in the week now and again..

I do bloody love booze though.

Being more serious, I actually don't drink much at all these days. Had a beer last night, but nothing like I used to in my twenties. Can go months without. It messes with my sleep, which is what I hate most.

Much the same here, with the sleep and morning after anxiety thing.

I still have a drink every weekend, but only in moderation. Any more than 3/4 and the following day isn‘t pleasant at all.

The last time I had a proper session was on a weekend away with the lads and the following day the anxiety was that bad, I felt like I was having an out of body experience.

Took me days to get over it.

I only drink beer and I don’t binge. I’m quite a slow drinker. But I definitely drink too much. I’m never out of control but that doesn’t mean it’s not having a bad effect on my health. Not a noticeable one at the moment but obviously over time my liver is going to notice. I also smoke which is something I really need to pack in (pun not intended)

Oh I know that one all too well. Probably catch up with my oldest buddies every 4 to 6 months. Usually descends into boozy stupidity. I'm ruined for days.

Well done bro, without wanting to sound patronising, you've got the right attitude to help you stop it being a problem but still retaining the capacity to have a social drink, its a fine line I have seen a few mates not keep the right side of. I have to stop every so often when it becomes a habit rather than enjoyable.

Stopped completely due to depression issues but slowly got to a better place but only really drank the odd Radler (German Shandy for those who don't know).

Drink a bit more nowadays, but still mainly Radlers but comfortable again with stronger drinks. Generally just drink for enjoyment, haven't had a big session for a very very long time. Like a good IPA, cider or a bit of rum.
