This signing makes perfect sense in the parallel universe where Doms goals fired us to mid table and we’re selling him for twice what we’re paying for Broja. Think he’s a really good player but doesn’t make sense for us.

We need a bigger squad next season, there a five substitutes allowed. I would rather have Simms on the bench than some of the squad players we had last season. He is better value than Tosun, El Ghazi or King.

He needs some game time to see if he can show anything. If he isn’t good enough then sell. But his fee will be higher just for getting some PL time.

Always a gamble. There's no guarantee someone would be willing to pay it, or if he suffered a long-term injury. Plus, transfer fees seem to be coming down a bit due to the bonkers salaries and agent fees clubs are having to pay.
