Confirmed Signing Armando Broja

There's some sort of twisted irony in David Moyes buying all of the players that Everton would love

cometh the hour........

Still think 30m is a lot for highly rated.
Or maybe its not in the mad world of football now.
It's probably around the going rate for highly rated young prospects from top clubs - especially if they don't need to sell or are as expertly proficient at negotiating sales as Chelsea have been over the years.

I mean, we paid about £25m for Moise Kean based on similar sort of potential. Wolves paid £35m for that Silva kid who'd played about 3 games previously. United paid about £23m for the kid Diallo(?) from Atalanta who'd played about 4 games as was then shipped out to Rangers last year. The RS paid £32m for a young Jota.

Doubt we have the £30m to spend either way really.

Thats my point really. None of them actually did anything. Id rather plough 30m into a youth development scheme and try and get a conveyor belt of our own coming through.

Bite the Bullet - no more throwing Top 4 wages at barely average players just to make them offers they can't refuse...only for them to sit on the bench or in the stands for 5 yrs, playing the odd poor game in 8 or 10.
#Schneiderlin etc.

Yes I know it's hard and we might struggle but the answer is not repeating the old mistakes

This. Ok the odd one might slip through the net but can suffer that. The majority of them dont prove worth it.
Clubs are paying chelsea big money for the money they ploughed into their youth academy. Fair play to them. A moise keane could have paid a long way into that for our own.
If it takes a few years then so be it.

Ive heard about this years TV deal being the biggest yet- between 2022- 2025 I believe. I think because of this we will have wriggle room to spend a bit. Coupled with the saving in wages from big earners and Richarlisons transfer fee.

I dont think its all as doom and gloom as people think but we do need to be shrewd with where we spend it.
