2024/25 Armando Broja

Could he be used as a number 10?

It's obvious he has more technical ability than Dom.

Maybe that could solve our goal scoring woes.

Should be an 'inside forward' off the left really...or a 10 in the current setup.

Its all huff and puff with the attack.

Oh we do, and importantly I ain't saying this is a squad of world beaters simply lacking in class, yet if you watch the play the tactics limit us significantly.

We do not attempt overlaps, and our wider players often intentionally come inside and wait for reinforcements - the regularity of it shows it's something asked of them.

Our primary tactic is hitting these long, high balls up the pitch and hoping that our forward can win the header, hold the ball and then do something with it.

It's horrible to watch.
Not only is it horrible to watch Phil , it is , as Forest showed yesterday, incredibly easy to play against.

In all honesty if Dyche can't coach proper forward play with movement and running off the ball I'd prefer him to properly go route 1 and play 2 or even 3 big lads up front , totally by pass midfield and play in the final third.

If course that would be equally horrible to watch but probably more successful in terms of creating chances

Only time we looked like a threat is when Pattinson came on and had 2 up front.

I thought Lindstrom did a job too: nothing special, but he caused a few issues. What frustrates me is that people say these players aren't good enough.

Good enough for what? They're professionals (many seasoned) and know the basics of football, yet under Dinosaur's stewardship they're trained not to utilise it.

Interesting how people see things differently. Aside from Ndiaye I thought he was our best player first half. Had to deal with some utter rubbish sent towards him.
Tell me why from kick off we play the ball back to Pickford & his rugby league kick off is punted to Jack Harrison, our smallest player on the pitch ? No 9 on his own is going to succeed with Dyches Hoofball... No wonder DCL wants to move on .... & I think we have seen the best of him TBH injuries have taken 2 yards of pace off him ....
We could spend a fortune on a no 9 & nothing would change - we have the oldest, slowest team in the prem ....

Broja to play the ACM role of Doucoure.
Doucoure off the bench at 65 to freshen up the press and put himself about.

A change is as good as a rest.

Armando Broja admits his loan move to Everton was a ‘no-brainer’.

The Chelsea forward made his first start for Sean Dyche’s side in Sunday’s home defeat to Nottingham Forest after finally shaking a longstanding Achilles injury.

Director of football Kevin Thelwell admitted that Broja’s deadline day capture, which has a purchase option this summer, was the culmination of several years’ interest.

And the Albania international has revealed that he previously held constructive talks over a move to Goodison Park prior to his eventual move at the end of August.

“I’ve spoken to Everton a couple of times, not just this summer but last summer and things,” said Broja.

“I’ve always had quite good conversations so I kind of knew they were around and they liked me.

“Obviously when they came in this summer to get me on the last day [of the transfer window], it was kind of a no-brainer.

“It was positive to kind of do something fresh, going from Chelsea to Everton, having a fresh start and recovering from my injury and going from there.”

Broja also feels that the Blues’ lengthy pursuit of him serves as an added incentive to show his worth despite admitting he could have fared better against Forest.

He added: “For me, every game I want to do my best. I want to help out the team as best I can.

“If that’s goals, if that’s with assists, if that’s with holding up the ball, if that’s running in behind, running the channels, getting on the ball, creating. I always want to show something.

“I wouldn’t say [Sunday] was one of my best games but definitely have improved on it but it was a frustrating afternoon for us all.

“But for sure I want to give everything and do better.”
