I believe that with a full pre-season behind him, Kone will prove all the doubters wrong and give Rom a run for his money as our main striker.

*just kiddinglol He should be out the door asap. I wanted it to work but he was destined to fail here:(

Signing Kone was the equivalent of having this guy phoning Bill because of the pigeons in his bank account. Utter waste of cash.

I really hope Kone hits some crazy serious form next season and then see chico vault posters like grains of sand....

He literally have done nothing in two years and is looking to leave on a free next year. We will see him playing about 15 league games next season...

To think there was a moment there where Jelavic and Kone were our strike force, man I'm glad we got Lukaku.

In all honesty though as a back up stiker we can do worse, I know he has a terrible goal per games ratio but when you're only getting 10 minutes at the end of games every couple of weeks it's impossible to get any continuity.

Look at Falcao, one of the worlds best strikers he didn't get consistent starts so he really struggled too. Been a back up striker is quite a hard role to play, Eto did it well however.

One of the few sensible posts in the thread

RM has tried him on the left a few times, the QPR game springs to mind where this occurred and he was actually instrumental in Lennon's winning goal. He seemed to get himself in the box with Rom for crosses in that game so perhaps left wing could be a goer for him long term as he's never going to start over Rom up top. The same fans who call him terrible are the same who call Rom terrible most weeks, the reality is Kone's nowhere near as bad as some like to make out, especially given his injuries which people also like to blame him for like they were somehow deliberate. As you correctly point out, we could do far, far worse for a back up striker, especially for the 5m he cost. Just look at Spurs and Roberto Soldado for evidence of that, let alone Falcao or some of the turd Liverpool have. How many goals did Balotelli score? 1? 2? He cost 16m and must be on 100k+ a week. Makes you think

Makes the James Beattie deal look like cracking value

Ship him out and bring in a striker worthy of the title.
