Arouna Kone

Kone was a decent player tbh, when you are his age and miss well over a year of football, then obviously it affects you. The Yak was never the same after his Achilles injury.
Was an unlucky signing rather than a bad one IMO.

£5m for a 30yr old back up forward with 2 major knee injuries in his past is not even close to being unlucky.

absolutely atrocious signing

I think he looks good moving forward with the ball sometimes, but nothing ever comes of it. He looked good at Wigan, so he
can play.
I won't be fussed if he is moved on, but I wouldn't be surprised if he starts scoring again, somewhere, if not here.
Truly awful player.

Yakubu scored something like 19 goals for Blackburn after that injury, it was Moyes ruining him. He had a belter game against Stoke (if my memory is right) and then was dropped for no reason for the Derby.

Kone isn't fit to lace Yakubu's boots.

He has been a poor signing as most of us predicated. To be fair of course he has been unfortunate with the injury but we should move on.

He was poor before his injury but lack of options and sympathy for him meant people forgot that and have him another chance. He is still poor though , which is a shame because you can't really fault his workrate and attitude.

He won't stay longer than his current contract
But, like Straq, if he just runs and runs and does his best then I can't ask for more from the guy
What I can ask for is another, better striker to be number 2 behind lukaku
