decent performance. important hold up play and I think both those chances are the kinds that just don't sit right and get sliced by many a player.

he does need to add some threat to that hold up play if he is going to be a useful option until the end of his time here. He will probably be used less as the season goes on but will put shifts like that in at the ends of games when we need it, and we will be glad of it when under the cosh.

Average and is getting progressively worse every week. Can someone please tell him that unlike his fellow Ivorian Yaya Toure, Kone is required to run... fast!

I think people are being too kind on Kone regarding the missed chances.

The first he should have buried, no doubt about it. He shifted it fairly well to the right of the player, then proceeded to obliterate any chance of scoring by attempting some kind of scoop attempt, when a simple put your foot through the ball was needed.

The second... pass wasn't ideal, but still had plenty of time to get to the ball, but just slashed at it, slightly on the stretch but not massively. I'll just about give him the benefit of the doubt on this one.

I honestly can't believe:

a) Kone is a Premier League footballer.
b) Kone gets paid for being a Premier League footballer.
c) Kone is a footballer.
d) People here believe he played well tonight.

The lad is woeful. Can't pass, shoot, dribble or run with the ball. He has no positional awareness or awareness of who is around him (team mate or rival.)

Comments like: "His work rate and his holding up the ball was absolutely fantastic tonight" are unbelievable! He refuses to track back most of the time and lost the ball countless times when trying to "hold the ball up."

These Kone fans either know nothing about the sport, are brainwashed by Martinez and think he is "phenomenal" or want him to succeed so badly for whatever reason they can't see any bad in him.

Pro Kone comments blow my mind.

NEA about a 32-year-old striker not having pace anymore. I doubt Martinez really wanted to use Kone tonight, and if Niasse were eligible he wouldn't have had to.

He played ok tonight, the ball sticks which gives other players a chance to get forward. Lacking confidence in front of goal though.

His hold up play is superb, he's got good pace and is decent in the air.

But his decision making and finishing are beyond woeful.
