I'm in both camps with Kong, always said he was a good purchase in principle when we signed him for his price tag and I also thought after his injuries that he would be finished.

always brilliant to see our players doing well though, if kobe is worth 10 goals this season alone then he is proving to be good value. didn't lukaku get a hatrick this year as well? so three strikers all with hatricks so far.

Now that hes well into the way we play, another strength of Kone now apparent is that he can 'see' a pass quickly, control the ball then execute the pass crisply and accurately. Sounds simple enough but, with this short, often walking pace passing game that's developed (and goes backwards... and my cursing forwards.... a lot), its a great outlet and he opens the play up so well with his technique.

As a general team player I don't think kone is fantastic mind you. In a back and forth midfield game kone us lost in his position anywhere other than up front. but what he has proven this year is around the edge of the box he can make something happen when we normally stop still, and defensively he can be brilliant.

The Chelsea game where he won every header in his own box was magnificent performance and certainly helped win the game just as much as our goal scorer
