It's good that you got bail @Diogenes the Cynic. What odds did your brief give you?
Is this in anyway a possible legal way to shake a tourist or non-local for cash? It seems like this would probably provide a lucrative little stream of income for a possibly corrupt legal system.
Police still got your passport then?Wouldn't like to say what the odds are at mo, wouldn't want to jinx anything.
I don't think it was a planned thing by the soldiers or authorities, just wrong place at wrong time and now I have to manage the fallout. Sometimes sentences can be negotiated to fine and deportation which is obviously a bit of a money spinner though.
Got bailed til 2nd Jan today so at least I'll be out over Christmas.
Had to renew my visa and got charged 2000bht to stay in the country which I thought was a bit cheeky to say the least considering they won't let me leave ha.
Police still got your passport then?
Run Forest Run!No I have it but have to give it back to the court tomorrow.
They know I'm not a flight risk or anything.

When were due to fly home mate before all this unfortunate business?
12th December.
Extended break now, visa renewed until 18th January.
Due to storms, floods and generally inclement weather I still have a milk bottle tan though.
God vomits on my eiderdown yet again.
Few extra days with that new girlfriend you mentioned then innit. Every cloud has a silver lining
Hope all works out well though mate, stressful thing to happen in a foreign country
I can't deny I'm loving the silver linings right now, definitely the thing that's keeping me going!
Yeah it's stressful as hell, more so because of the effect it's having on my family and honestly on their finances as well.
I just find things every day that make me happy and grateful, Im trying to learn the language as much as I can and still making friends every day.
I really do love this country. Pretty devastated to be getting excommunicated from it to be honest.
