Good news - Bailed again til 9th January.

Bad news - Sat in middle of tropical storm

It's emergency stations here on Samui as you've probably read on the news.

Anyone have any cyclone experience? Should I tape up my windows? I've tried sawdust and putting the patio doors in rice but perhaps I can do more.

Storm hasn't properly hit yet but it's wild already. I'll stick one of the mattresses against the windows if it gets worse I think.

Christmas was very low key because I was waiting for a replacement bank card to arrive from UK, with no passport couldn't even get a western union transfer.

Made up for it at new year though. No big mad parties but I prefer the bars anyway. Definitely making the most of my situation ha.

Probably best you avoided the big parties anyway by the way your lucks been the past month.
I went to a NYE party on Phangnan in 2015 and it was nuts, heard the next day that loads of people had been spiked.
