Arrested in Thailand

I guess I just wanted a bit of moral support. I felt pretty grim in the pen today and some of the replies made me smile.

I was also hoping one of the mods would rise up as a human rights lawyer like in Bridget Jones and get me home. I still have hope.

Anyway I'm bailed til the 18th, gonna enjoy my potentially temporary freedom while I can.

Not sure if it's the same in Thailand but had a mate arrested in HK and all was going well til he failed a drugs test. So if it's a drugs charge they've got you on, and you're pleading innocent it may help to be able to provide a clean sample.

Just for the record I am admittedly an attention whore and I know this is a thread I've created about me and probably mostly for me but it has really helped me through one of the toughest days of my life so thank you for all your replies, even and especially the joke ones.
It was a spur of the moment desperation bid that made me post but im glad i did,It's made me feel closer to home a bit.

Just gutted @mattdamon couldn't illustrate my panic with a series of pie charts and fascinating fonts.
Good luck mate. Hope everything is sorted soon.
Have they taken away your passport?

@Diogenes the Cynic

1 -- Never sign anything written in Thai.

2 -- Contact the embassy (they dont usually do much for ANYTHING including medical issues or arrests) so dont be disheartened...keep on at them.

3 -- Get a good lawyer...thats crucial but first ask the embassy to recommend someone on their approved list.

4-- All the posts about circumstantial evidence etc, its nonsense...they can make anything up and do you for it....what you need is embassy support and a legal referral.

Despite evidence in transfer thread and elsewhere that suggests otherwise, Zatman seems to be giving good advice

This is bang on the money tbh.

Thai police are the worst.

Good luck to you.

Surely GOT can pull together in times like these and get Damo to illustrate your path to freedom

Death or glory is my advice. Get hold of some serious weaponry and go take down the local police who have (figuratively? Metaphorically?) fisted you. Dressed as Batman preferably. A live feed for GOT would be much appreciated. Drebins last stand.

Okay maybe not. Feel for you mate, it must be utterly terrifying. I was crapping it when the cops randomly decided to breath test me one Xmas (all clear) in the uk. So god knows what this is like for you.

Years ago a friend of a friend was arrested for assault as he was about to fly out, they took him to jail before telling him they had got the wrong guy and let him out.

He was able to get another flight but he had overstayed his visa by one day and had spent all his money so couldn't pay the fine, took him back to jail. It was before mobiles so took a while before he could get money sorted, he spent a week in jail and had to spend £50 a day (whatever it was) for the privilege. lol lol lol

Good luck btw. What sentences are they saying for guilty and innocent pleas.

Obviously don't plead guilty like.

Not in Thailand so it’s probably of little help but I’ve been through the legal system in the U.K. and it’s not easy and if anybody pretends it is is a liar . You need to be strong , take advice from professionals and work hard yourself . A positive mental attitude is also crucial, there is loads more I can say if you want to converse by pm .

As I say it’s not in Thailand so might not be hugely helpful but a positive and interested attitude is worth so much . Don’t try to avoid it but also you can only change what you can change, only the things in your comtol can be controlled so don’t waste time and energy of stuff out of your hands . Keep focussed and positive mate but speak to the embassy and get decent legal advice and listen and speak to them as much as reasonable because they’re the key .
