Coleman has been playing well for a good while now whenever he's on the field. By far and away our best RB option when fit, but the vultures are always circling for whenever he hits a loose pass

Yeah he's been very good since the last international break imo. The only problem is Carlo doesn't seem to think he can play every week and maybe he can't. His age is catching up with him.

If we are signing Max Aarons, then I am all for extending Coleman's contract by another year up to 2023. The important thing though is that we sign his long term replacement this summer because its much better planning to sign a replacement and still have the senior pro around the club as an experienced, but capable, squad option.

Jesus I missed this, I had no idea it was that bad ..
Never mind the offside, how arteta can claim that was a pen....
Rapidly losing any remaining affection for the little snake
This type of cheating won’t be taken out of the game until it is punished in a meaningful way. The player should get a retrospective red card and be suspended for three weeks. If this was to happen when players attempt to cheat then we may see them standing up and trying to use their talent to win matches and not their dishonesty.
Arsenal and Arteta should make a public apology to the referee, to Everton and to football in general and give an undertaking their players won’t resort to cheating in what is meant to be sport. This would be a welcome if bold move but they are one of the elite six so it isn’t going to happen.

....there’s a new definition of penalty with VAR, we’re seeing it more clearly with hand ball & I think it’s evident in these circumstances. Catch an attacker and he goes down, then it’s a penalty. No grey area, it’s virtually yes or no.

In these circumstances, I imagine a loser definition will evolve & that will relate to: was the amount of force appropriate to the player going down.

What made it worse that it was endorsed by Alan Smith

Good result last night, did what we had to do, couldn't have been pretty for a neutral.
Got to be said how poor Arsenal are now compared to the Wenger days, I'm sure they now regret hounding the guy out.
Totally agree Eggs, especially your last paragraph, does a brush on the shin result in a reaction a full second later in a guy falling and rolling around like he'd been hit by a bus.
Thankfully we didn't get to them making that decision, to be honest we have mostly got decisions for us with VAR this season

Big win for the blues, keeps our chance of Europe very much alive. We've got some winnable games coming up. Hey, you never know.
