Cech MOTM says it all. We did well and I’m optimistic things will come good under Silva. Get Mina in with Gomes and bed in Bernard.
It defo will come good, after the injuries, but we need to make our own luck, today played well v a team most expect us to lose to,while not playing well v 2 previous teams nearly everyone expected us to beat,,we have a habit of losing to teams we should lose to and rarely cause a shock-while a few times we seem to not be able to beat the teams we should be,i know there's no called easy game in the prem, but we make most games easy

I think Hank’s confidence is shot to pieces which is why Eton Dom started today. I didn’t watch the game (I’ve stopped watching Everton already this season), but it sounds like Eton Dom played well.?

He was excellent off the ball. Just seen the stats, they back it up.

He won 10 tackles (6 more than any other player on the pitch, btw), made 3 clearances, 3 interceptions, gained possession 7 times and lost it 9 times.

He was, defensively, the best player on our team in terms of stats.

Aye but he cost us by gifting it away. It's not just winning it back. It's how often his errors let Arsenal into the transition. And we are still very disorganised in the transition. But the root cause is the crab hitting wayward square balls. School boy stuff. Woeful.

Bemusing how someone could be having a go at Gueye there, if we have players with a bit more creative talent than Davies to capitalise from the graft he puts in we’ll be a completely different team. Putting a lot of hope in Gomes in that role.

Yes Gueye doesn’t pick up many assists and most often plays the safe pass but if he was a better ball player than I highly doubt he’d be here. The stats alone show you how good he is at regaining possession it’s not his fault that we lack the players to convert the counters he creates for us into goals.

I don't think either Davies or Gueye played badly.

None of them really played badly. Our forward's didn't take the chances (Walcott, DCL ones were the biggest opportunities). Lacazette showed his quality and then Arsenal got lucky for their second.

Well that's a bummer. I thought we were very good at times but the mistakes were embarrassing. Silva has his work cut out if he didn't already know it.
Onwards and sidewards.
