What's more concerning to me was that we just threw in the towel and gave up as soon as that second goal went it. On 59 minutes. Don't tell me we can't get back into a game that has 30+ minutes left in it. Silva has to sort out the mentality of some of these players.

I wasn't able to watch but caught highlights. Seems to have been an improved performance. Defensively giving up 1 legit goal on what was more a great finish than anything is encouraging. While we did let them in too easily on that second goal you can't say it was poor defending when Kenny covers back and forces them to mess up the chance. We can't do anything if the rules aren't going to be enforced.

Play the same team against Fulham. We need to get some continuity going.

I seriously wouldn't change it. We really need to start having a settled team and this performance even in defeat was enough to start with that.

I watched all of the game on tv. I think we played well enough until the heads dropped a bit after the second goal. But the main difference between the teams on the day was that Arsenal took 2 of their chances and we wasted all of ours. Cech made some routine saves but better finishing would have seen us out of sight by half time.
We need a quality cf in January. Richarlison takes up a little of the slack by cutting in from the wing but neither DCL nor Tosun are good enough to play cf for Everton. DCL may get there and is worth persevering with from the bench imho but Tosun needs replacing.

There's a video doing the rounds on Facebook that shows the linesman doing a little fist pump when the goal is given too. Probably nothing but it's a good conspiracy theory

Sometimes I really hate our fans, calling for the manager to be binned after 6 games, and the 7th game is a relegation 6 pointer, the truth is we have mostly average to useless players with only 1 maybe 2 good player players and nobody better than good. Our fans need to realise that a combination of Pep, Ferguson and Mourinihos best traits couldn't get a tune out of that bunch of players, our players just look lazy and uninterested apart from Richarlson and Dinge who are 2 of silvas signings.

Spot on that, I think it shows what a low base of self confidence the club in general has, it won't be a quick fix.

I don't think it was us throwing the towel in, more Arsenal getting a two goal cushion gave them more freedom to pass the ball around. You can't say that Everton weren't trying right up to the final whistle. If that offside goal hadn't been given I think the final result would have been a lot different.

Another loss. 12 points behind the RS after 6 games and no hope of getting close to them. A wake up call for some of those on here with blue tinted spectacles on. Bottom 3 looks a safer bet than top 4 at this point.

It was certainly an improvement on our last three or four visits to Arsenal.

Lots to take encouragement from......but Fulham is an absolute must win game now, to build on the good things we saw today.

We never even got a chance to gather ourselves and have a go after the opening goal for the, the linesman gifted them the points a couple munutes kater.

A lot of pressure on the Fulham game and I’m just hoping we get an early goal and bury them!
