Well that was a down rite crap. End of the day this Silver seem like som1 whotalk the talk but dont walk the walk. Wod prefer a manager like cough Allardice who is a Brit and know the club through and through

His heat map from the first 4 games suggests otherwise...

If that was one game that would be impressive, but over four games, meh.

I know we say it every year but we have to go all out for the league cup, no better chance of winning a tin than that one

Agreed. People talk about that and the Europa League as though they’re beneath their teams. I’m personally sick to death of us winning nothing and would kill for a “Mickey Mouse cup” and Thursday night away games in some shady former Yugoslav hole nobody’s heard of!

For what felt like the first time in years we more than matched Arsenal at their place. We created more today than I can remember in years. I thought Digne did well, Davies partnering Gana looked a more progressive partnership and we competed all over the pitch. We know the margins that decide matches can be tight and our inability to take clear chances was the difference. My biggest complaint today was the lack of a response to the goals, heads went down and we went through the motions. We lacked any intensity. Winnng sides respond when it’s going against them, we don’t. That’s what has to change.
Well said mate just got back off the train and if we would have taken our chances in that 1st half wed of been on our way to 3pts. Walcott is clearly just not good enough and speaking to Arse fans on the way back to the station they clarified this, we had 3 or 4 1 on 1s in the first half and missed every one. Once again the team let us fans down who filled the away end.

All the more reason to go for the league cup isn't it. I like to see youth and fringe players get their chance to impress but we have to get the balance right. We can't be risking going out to Southampton at home next week. Into the last 16 with a win.

I think there’s room for rotation - ideal opportunity to get Big Yerry and L’il Bernie in from the start, for example - but I agree that we should afford the competition the respect it deserves if we want to win it.

Translation: NO STEK!!

look where the linesman is stood

omg if there was ever evidence of corruption in football jesus christ how much more of a perfect view could you get

he needs to be investigated, this guy is worse than platini

Well said mate, but as you say thats the the thing we never do.Can you imagine the RS,CITY OR UNITED ACCEPTING THE EUROPEAN BAN LIKE WE DID IN 1985.nO EITHER CAN I,OUR CLUB IS RUN BY MUPPETS.

It's particularly gutting because imo we were outstanding in the first half. Silva made a huge mistake in not signing a top striker in the window, because neither Tosun, DCL or Niasse (none of his signings) are anywhere near good enough and a lack of cutting edge up there saw us unable to take our chances.

It really must be time to put either Richarlison or Walcott up there because 1. we have no decent out-and-out striker in the squad, and 2. we have 'too many' quality wide attacking players. Surely a three of Bernard Richarlison Walcott is worth a try? Why not?

I don't even think Gueye or Davies (the current weak links imo) were bad in the first half, or maybe Arsenal just didn't turn up, but in the second they just stunk the place out, especially Davies. How he plays, not to mention gets given the armband, is disgraceful!

That's four clean sheets now in 26 games. I feel Pickford needs to be doing more (on general) but don't blame him for today with one great finish and one goal that would be ruled out for offside 99.9% of the time.

I've not taken to Silva. I don't like his personality (rather lack of) and think he makes a lot of mistakes. Here's hoping he proves me wrong. I know he was forced to start the season with a woeful first eleven due to the board refusing to sign players on time.

who could we have signed that would have been better? I agree with the thought but in principle just can't think of a player that would be better than Tosun who would want to come to us...
