VAR, is not adopting it the most senseless decision the premier league clubs ever came to?
No VAR is leading to plenty of goals that shouldn't stand and other big penalty decisions just ignored. Without VAR players need to dive and give a few repeats too, before a referee acts.
Competent officiating is a rarity in the prem, especially when Jon Moss and his team are doing it. Not bringing in VAR was always a huge mistake and always seemed senseless, we have some of the worst officials in Europe in the prem, no wonder we had none on the World Cup.
There's only Neill Oliver anything like good enough and a decent ref, most of the others are ordinary at best and most nowhere near even that.
Tbf VAR may have flagged a pen for Arsenal in the first half too, the officials are just so utterly incompetent these days that they really need help and all they can get, its absolutely senseless there's no VAR.
Neil Oliver is the only good referee, and even he can make poor decisions and have bad matches, but he's still miles better than the rest,
Moss has plenty of competition, but must be well in the running for the worst referee going atm, granted though that race is close and it's a very tough decision indeed, there are just so many who are very, very bad.
Fiso poster 'math!' commented..
(Fiso is a fantasy football site I sometimes look at)
'I cover a lot of matches around europe for work and it is amazing to see how well it is used in leagues like Bundesliga 1&2 and the portuguese league. Earlier today a red card was reversed early in a match because the player was initially offside.'
if they had VAR, matches would inevitably be longer such is the frequency of poor decisions and general incompetence of most if not quite all the officials in use, it can just seem like one one bad mistake follows soon after the last, something has to be done.
The officials in premier league now seem to be holding a festival of incompetence every weekend, give them help, HOW THEY NEED IT.
The case against is now so weak, it's almost unarguable.
