It makes more financial sense at this stage to finish it than mothball it. Investors will see the real estate value of that area of Liverpool and their egos will believe they can turn Everton round. I’m encouraged by the group linked with us who have invested in other European clubs. 777 sports group was it? They at least have some football knowledge and might start to turn things round. I think even if we go down it could be the start of a turnaround. I wonder if some of the delay in an investment deal being completed is waiting to see if we go down so they can get a bigger share of the club for less money.

If we go down we are stuck with Moshiri and Kenwright.... the stadium will cost more than the value of Everton as a Championship club to finish.

I like Dyche’s approach. No waiting until the weekend to see what he does with Gueye- hauled off at half time. Standards. Echoes of the Villa game tonight, some good play and decent shape and structure, but undone by a total lack of cutting edge.
