Arteta Remembrance Thread

I have to admit i shed a tear today when i thought about the fact i will never see Mikel Arteta in an everton jersey again. As mediocre as he has been recently we all remember him bossing games and taking the piss out of people in his pomp. Im delighted he scored a fantastic goal in a goodison derby win aswell, hopefully he,ll look back on that when his carreer is over and remember the good days he had with us.

Farewell Mikel Arteta. THE BEST LITTLE SPANIARD WE KNEW.

I sense there was a lot of love for Mikel.

I hear that.

I feel your pain.

Don't be sad. It's like when a dog gets sick, it's kinder to put it down.

When a great player no longer performs on a consistent basis, it's hard, but sometimes it's better for everyone if they move on.

Mikel knew it, David knew it, and Bill teary eyed gave it his blessing.

He may never of recaptured his form at Everton, maybe he can at Arsenal.

It would have been cruel to keep him.

Sometimes when you really love somebody, you have to be prepared to let them go.

Let him go.

Cherish the memories.

Let's all take a moment, and then move on.

Good bye Mikel.

You really were **** against Blackburn, (good penalty though mate).

He was my favorite player for a long long time. I wish him all the luck he deserves some C-League footie as this is the only chance he'll ever get. However I never thought his partnership with Fellani was a good one as they both played much better when the other was hurt or on the bench. He's past his prime. This isn't the same guy who was the most fouled player in the prem for 3 straight years (I can't remember a recent match in which he was fouled twice in one match) and CM is too demanding of a position for a player making 75K for the next 4 years at age 29 with dodgy knees. Plus we have Rodders locked up and sooner or later we are going to have to see what he brings to the table. We also have Osman who's been in my opinion more of a creator in the attacking end recently.

I was pretty extatic on the lower bullenswhen he scored in the 3-3 draw against manu. His last appearance penalty was just on telly.

I'll watch Arsenal because I want Arteta to do well. I want to see him finally lift a trophy, play in the champions league and get a national call up.

I wish I could see him do it in an Everton shirt but Arteta's not just a player. He is a blue, even though he's gone. Watch his interview on etv. He looks genuinely emotional. He met the best man for his wedding at this club and brought his kid up here. We will not forget him and he will not forget us.

And although it will suck to see him in another shirt, I repeat; I do want to see him do well and succeed. Because Arteta bloody well deserves it.

Just cried again watching that. What the **** is wrong with me.

Two comments:

1) I sincerely hope that this move somehow, as unlikely as it seems, gets him noticed for the Spanish National Team. I know, I know, fat chance. But I'd like to see him get a shot.

2) ...and that goal against Bolton a few years back.

Best of luck Mikky. I expect a standing ovation for him at Goodison. Mark the date on the calendar.

I wont be able to watch Arsenal, phiscialy i just CANT see him in another shirt.

I'm going to be physically sick when I see that.

As I just said to D/D.

Its like someone's died in my house.

There is NOTHING more important that Everton to me like.
