Arteta

I was there, and no we didn't

We always treated Arteta with the utmost respect up to that point, and regularly clapped him when he came back to Goodison

We started booing him in that match because he was lying around pretending to be hurt and just generally cheating throughout the course of the game. He instigated all of it

You don't expect former players to do you a favour, but you at least expect them not to cheat against you

He's an arrogant sod who thinks he's better than our club and always did. I'm thrilled he's destroying his legacy at Arsenal, because he's already burned his bridge here a long time ago
He played against us how he played for us. I bet you weren’t crying when he was feigning injury for us.

Definitely this. We really could do with an Arsenal win tonight. Get City out. If we can beat United tomorrow, then would rather have to face Arsenal than City. Be nice for Spurs to do the decent thing and get knocked out too.
Arsenal to win narrowly in a grueling game whilst picking up injuries and another red card would be lovely.

Hopefully Arsenal can beat City tonight and pick up a point against Chelsea at the weekend.

It'll keep him in the job longer and potentially help us.

He was seen as a 'project' manager so in that regard he should be given time but I doubt he will and I never expected him to succeed as a Manager. I don't believe he has the right personality for the role.

A few stretchers would be nice.

He's going to end up sectioned by the end of this

He seems absolutely desperate to be told he’s a good boy and he’s doing a nice job, really not the personality required to manage in the premier league.
Carlo in his situation would say something along the lines of ‘well, it has been a difficult time for us and the results have not been so good but we will continue to work hard and improve’... you don’t go pretending everything is ok when you’re Arsenal and you’re 15th in the league!

ok then very selective in the OTT pro Arteta fapfest you quoted to make yourself look holier than thou
But my point is still valid, IMO obviously, before Ancelotti became available there weren't many candidates and people might be excused for looking at Arteta a before Moyes or Rafael
Which could excuse the above mentioned fap fest
Before Ancelotti, anybody who wasn't Moyes, Silva or Rafael was in with a chance...including Arteta
And,
Again,
Before Ancelotti, you might not have wanted him (?), but many were entitled to, on first look, full well knowing that all appointments are a gamble, if he hadn't done much, he'd had a good teacher and everybody has to start somewhere...I'd better teary Bill was all in favour...and anyways, at least he hadn't failed...he's not failed yet, struggling, not looking good, but these days time is not on his side
I dont think there was any other calculation going on with those who wanted Arteta than the fact he was a former player they liked and that he was an assistant to Guardiola.

Those of us opposing that move were underlining the fact he had even less experience than The Galoot. He'd had one match in the CL in the City dugout and they lost it.

It was form over content. Typical of the way modern day football fans think. These players should never be allowed near a top flight team unless they've proven they can manage at a lower level or abroad. Arteta was always odds on to be the embodiment of the Peter Principle.
