Take a moment to think about this.
There is a person, or maybe a team of people at stoke city whose job it is to recruit the right kind of people for their team.
It would be part of their job to review these players careers to date paying close attention to their most recent contributions.
These people have just decided that Ashley ‘spent a whole season overweight starting pre season last year, lost the tiny amount of mobility and pace I had in the first place, lost my marbles repeatedly and even threw punches at opposition players’ Williams is the guy to help them get back in the premier league.

If you were in charge of another club how much would you pay for him? Paying a chunk of his wages is more than enough.
