He signed him at the same time and sold him the following Jan. Was am exciting summer , hence why I remember. We also loaned rodrigo that summer and he injured himself for the season

Yobo was bought in the summer of 2002, Kröldrup in the summer of 2005 along with Neville, van der Meyde and Simon Davies. Don´t believe me check it out.

I was against this one at first, but the more I think about it, the need to get some leadership into this squad from somewhere (let's face it, Phil "I'll Tie My Shoelaces On The Halfway Line And Hopefully This Situation Will Go Away" Jagielka is currently our captain; says it all) so that our mentality begins to turn around.

Christ mate when you look at the other players we are after - Martins Indi and Bolasie, then Williams looks like he will be the statement and marquee signing we will make this summer

There will be no statement of intent signing this summer. We need to just accept that and move on.

The hope now is that we make a few intelligent buys and gradually improve instead, to the point where - if Moshiri actually has the money to fund us properly and isn't Kenwright MkII - we become an attractive overall package to players.

Question then becomes - we hav e genuinely accpeted the sale of Stones as neccesary in order to increase the wage structure at the club, BUt as it currently stands we won't get close to raising it by the amount we will be able to, so why are we selling him for really?

Because he wants to leave. He wanted to leave last summer, was told it was too late, and nothing has changed in his mindset.

If he was committed to staying after last summer, he'd have signed a new contract around Christmas. He didn't. As such, there's never been much doubt in my mind that Stones was going.

We´re selling him to generate money for transfer fees and wages. Some of it will probably go to pay Koeman.

We're selling him because he wants to go & the manager feels he can replace him. The Club have put more effort into keeping Lukaku, they dont care about Stones just as long as the value is met.

If true, we'll be in the Championship inside three years and our club completely asset stripped.

I don't believe that is the case. I think it's as simple as Stones wanting to leave, and Everton prepared to lose him for the right price.

I just hope people keep in mind the TV money when looking at our spend this summer, because at this point I'll be very surprised if Moshiri invests anything in the squad beyond that come the end of this window.

Then why has the line about STCC been at the forefront whenever he is discussed with leaving mate?
