We only need "creativity" in the middle if that's how we choose to play

We don't have to play that way

Having Jimmy Mac and Barry back to their best and controlling the middle ground, setting up Kev and Del down the wings, could be just as effective
He had to sub them v UNT as they were woeful!
The younger lads who came on were better!

Mate, I know you're only trying to be optmistic, but have you seen anything from Del and Kev in the last three years to suggest that they'll be able to significantly contribute to Everton moving up the league table? They are both reasonably good players and I want them at the club but the truth is neither of them has ever had a consistently productive season at Everton.

And as for Barry and Jimmy Mac controlling the middle, didn't we try that for the last two years under Martinez?

Or it's superb by kenwright or moshri.... I don't know what I beleive any more and if it disappears down the couch then well
It will disappear into the stadia fund if that ever materializes, 5 days to go and we are selling to buy nothing changes , and Lukarku has not signed an extension to his contract as yet its not looking that good poor pre season no marque signings - williams is a gamble - doh!

@ijjysmith will not like you questioning Del mate

Laughable, in his prime he was one of the best in the prem and was rightly an England international at two major tournaments. He saved us many times, off the top of my head in Moyes' last Anfield Derby and in the only Anfield Derby Martinez didn't have us nationally embarrassed in (not his goal, his defending was brilliant that day).

Jagielka wouldn't have had to shoulder the captaincy if Martinez had brought in any players with a shred of character whatsoever. Instead we went from a team of captains Neville Cahill Carsley Jagielka Arteta Distin even Naismith or Jelavic to one that could barely find someone to take the armband.

If there's a leadership vacuum at Everton, blame no one but Martinez. Besic was the only player with any grit that he bought in.

The "burden" of captaincy of Everton? Lol. They should be queuing round the block to pick that honour up.

Look, Jagielka was not Everton captain class. He just wasn't. The feller couldn't motivate himself never mind others.

It'll be sweet as a nut if we can punt him up to ginger minge as part of another deal.

Wasn't Jags already Captain during Moyes tenure anyway?

I honestly don't know who else you could have given it to at that point

Coleman wasn't ready yet and Baines has already shown he isn't a leader

This was pre-Barry as well

Fellaini maybe? Distin?

Jags was probably the best man for the job at the time

The point is that Moyes made Jagielka captain with a few games to go in the season when he'd already announced he'd leave the club. He had no right to saddle the incoming manager with him. It was not impossible for Martinez to strip him of that armband on arriving, but diplomatically it'd have been unwise. That's how we got lumbered with a captain that should never have been captain.

We hear people have been slagging off our Del.
