I think that right now Williams is a much better defender, the stats prove that too. Stones may become better but there's no doubt he cost us more points that he won last season, we would have been daft not to sell at that price, another season like the last one would have lost us around £20m.

He wasn't solely responsible, the defense was massively mis-managed by Martinez, but Stones' performances weren't that impressive, there's no chance Williams would have let things get that bad.
