I think this is everyone too.
It's gone mad. They're John Stones'ing us.
not at all. if Swans have moved the goalposts (which they have, but left it open to another offer, btw, with a public statement) then it's not on us.
time to tell Swansea and Witsel to do one. any more than ten million is too much for a 32 year old, and Witsel can just stay in Russia and wait for Juve, or Inter or AC Milan, or Roma, or Napoli, or Torino to offer him his dream move. the massive titClever from their new owners like.
Hang on didn't they brake the news that it was on?
Exactly this - All Swansea are doing is the same as we are with stones. It will happen.we never agreed a deal with Chelsea though (in principle or otherwise).
I'm not shouting sour grapes or anything, btw. They most likely do not want to sell their captain and one of their best players on the 'eve' of the new season, so will make sure they get the best money they can do if it does go through.
We'll see now how important a signing Koeman/Walsh view this as. If they really want him, we'll have to up our offer (to Swansea)
They just want to play hard ball, they 'don't want to accept the offer currently on the table'. Well you ain't getting any more so we'll move on!!
So they initially accepted the offer - then rejected it?!
'agreed in principle' was what was reported last night. Seems they went back on their principles.
The only difference between this and Stones with City is we've clearly set a valuation. If City agreed to pay that next week but we then said 'no, we want 60mil', we'd be kind of doing what Swansea are doing.
As somebody said, snide but in all fairness it's a seller's market.
