2024/25 Ashley Young

I really felt for Ashley Young yesterday. Can understand getting booed off if you’ve done something wrong in the game, but getting booed on!? He’s a very senior pro who’s had a distinguished career, looked after himself and for the most part avoided controversy. Does he really deserve that?

The problem is that at 39 he shouldn’t be and probably doesn’t expect to be playing as much as he is. Probably Coleman too. That he’s being called on as much as he is isn’t his fault. It’s Dyche and the people above him not signing replacements.

Our sloth looking useless fella loves him so he will get games. I wish Old...sorry Young would pick up a career ending injury as he's laughing to the bank with us. 100% the worst player we've had and his experience should tell him to f off

It was kopite-esque behaviour
Expecting their club to do better than bringing on a 39 year old , rubbish player for the only striker ?
Yeah definitely Kopite behaviour, that’s probably why they compete for titles and major European trophies while we compete for nothing except survival.
Plus the booing was for the substitution more than the player , which was obvious if you were there.
Sorry to ruin your self righteous , holier than thou , tiresome , anti - supporter whinging.

Not too bothered about the penalty, everyone misses them. But with VAR he would have given away a penalty with 2 minutes to go by diving in. I feel like he does this sort of thing quite regularly, a bit like he hasn't realised he's not quick enough to get there any more.

My biggest problem with Young is that he's a first team regular.

In many regards signing a fella who at 39 is in very good physical condition, has bags of experience and can be a great example to younger players on preparation, lifestyle etc. is no bad thing.

As a stop gap. Bringing in during emergencies. Problem is I rather suspect he joined anticipating a regular role and our manager seens very keen on shoe horning him in at any and every opportunity.

You're a Villa fan aren't you?
