2024/25 Ashley Young

It was kopite-esque behaviour
Yeah that lazy insult doesn't work anymore. Its the same insult that got tossed around every single time protests where talked about and look where that's lead us. Messages need to be sent at times so its made clear what the fans find unacceptably bad decisions. Shame tactics don't work at this point. If you want to just accept bad decisions then go ahead, but don't sneer at those who voice their displeasure about it.

I really felt for Ashley Young yesterday. Can understand getting booed off if you’ve done something wrong in the game, but getting booed on!? He’s a very senior pro who’s had a distinguished career, looked after himself and for the most part avoided controversy. Does he really deserve that?

The problem is that at 39 he shouldn’t be and probably doesn’t expect to be playing as much as he is. Probably Coleman too. That he’s being called on as much as he is isn’t his fault. It’s Dyche and the people above him not signing replacements.

It wasn't Young coming on that caused the booing, it was the decision to take you're centre forward off and replace him with an ageing fullback. Just maybe you could understand it, if you were away from home or actually winning. We were at home and not winning playing a very boring Southampton. Dinosaur decision by Dyche which should result in him going extinct !

Not too bothered about the penalty, everyone misses them. But with VAR he would have given away a penalty with 2 minutes to go by diving in. I feel like he does this sort of thing quite regularly, a bit like he hasn't realised he's not quick enough to get there any more.

We all thought that was a pen, luckily no var and on that occasion an inept ref and officials worked in our favour, but to Ashleys credit, he made amends later with his pen.

That tackle he made on dibling looked as stonewall a penalty as it gets yet the commentators didn't even comment. The lad didnt even seem to claim for it though which is weird so maybe he did get a touch on it?

But it's moments like that which suggest he shouldn't be playing for us anymore. He got away with that big time but still ended up being the one to miss his pen anyway

I loudly voiced my displeasure over the Substitution. It was aimed directly at Dyche for bringing a defender on for the only out and out striker we had on the pitch

Shouldn't be resorting to their level.
What, demanding more and winning things? Oh yeah, sounds terrible. We can't have that at Everton can we?! The hipsters wouldn't be able look down on everyone else and mumble incoherent nonsense and stupid sounds bites like "Everton that!" After another embarrassing display just so they play at being superfans.

Yeah. "Everton that" is one of the most overused and unfunny comments on this forum.

Does anyone actually know who’s decision it was to sign young?

Who’s decision was it to renew the contracts of young, Coleman & Harrison?

Do we actually have a scouting system?

If I were Textor (or whoever buys the club) these are the first questions I would be asking & would sack them. Along with Dyche.

Nobody was booing the player they were booing a full back coming on for a center forward with the game to be won at home.
It’s like when people kicked off that Rondon was booed. It wasn't the player being booed. It was booing the decision by Benitez to take off a player that had been performing well.

Fans are allowed to voice their displeasure at a decision which is essentially giving the game away.

At home, to a garbage team and playing with no striker. It’s an appalling decision.

Yeah bringing Young on and taking big blue Beto off really surrendered the game he was looking really really dangerous.
