My only issue with this guy is he's not as good at pens as Pickford and he will be used mostly in cup games when it may count, but that might be overthinking it. He's a quality back up

After the days of Joel Robles and Maarten Stekelenburg as our #2, Begovic is roughly a 10,000% improvement.
Robles was an odd one, he'd look great one game then appalling the next. Weird player.
Begovic if I'm honest I don't like, decent shot stopper but his feet are too slow. I hope we never have to use him again.

Things are weirdly more relaxed with Begovic in goal. I'm not by any means saying he's better than Pickford but I wish Pickford could cut out the histrionics we see 10 times a game.
Seems like I'm on my own here but he worries me, absolutely respect he's an experienced keeper and a model pro, but for me he doesn't communicate anywhere near enough and he's too passive, was surprised when someone told me he was 35, thought he was older. Could of dived for Benrahmas shot and wouldn't of got near it, not many keepers would of either, but startling how off guard he was caught there
I actually don't rate Begovic, don't think he dives very well these days. But I guess most clubs don't have fantastic backup in goal
That's really what I'm saying mate, he moves like an old man, furthermore and potentially even worse, I'd never ever want to see Lonegran start a prem game, hes even older, I'd rather we kept Virginia who's hungry and with a point to prove, we need a half decent backup

But someone like that is not going to be content on the bench. It's not like other positions where there will be opportunities for an understudy to get some minutes here an there. A promising young keeper really needs to play, or if worth something on the market to fetch that value.
An old hand like Begovich, who knows his role and is prepared to play at any time, that's a good profile for a backup.
He was fine today.
He's ok as a back up, but, it's surprising that considering how much bigger than Pickford he is, he is nowhere near as commanding as Pickford when the ball is launched into our box. When Pickford is missing, you realise just how good he is.
Takes a knee to the face by Coady and then helps Coady up, not vice versa. Great to have him as a back up.

Bit like the Leeds goal.
He’s been solid for us mostly. Was worried when we signed him as he looked awful for Bournemouth. Nice and simple on set pieces coming in.
