ok apologies to howard if it took a deflection, still one of the poorer keepers in the league, not that there are many good ones though. this is massive notice to maoning kopites aswell:

We have hit the woodwork 3 times now in our first two games and still ended up with 6 comfortable points. stop moaning that this was the reason you didn't win as much as you did last season!!!!!

Yeah but the ****e hit the woodwork 33 times last season and still finished 8th

I'm having sea bass in a chilli and lemon dressing with some rocket and peppers.

I now want hot dogs.

OT: EVERTON ARE BOSS LADS AND I F*CKING LOVE BELGIANS

The Good

  • Moyes: Didn't utilise Neville or any defender in midfield, which I didn't expect. Had us playing intelligent, varied, attractive (!) football. Good subs and clearly got the team motivated.
  • Pienaar: Good goal and sensational step-overs. Generally boss.
  • Baines: Absolutely superb offensive performance. He doesn't just get into good positions, he picks the intelligent option.
  • Jelavic: Great movement all game and I've watched his goal over and over, just fapping over the way he peeled off the defence. It's beautiful, the boss slotter.
  • Coleman: Great crosses (!) and he has the makings of a potentially superb impact sub. He definitely works at his game a lot, and credit to him.
  • Breaking the Villa Hoodoo: First win there in 6 years. Sniff it you Brummie bells.

The Bad

  • Villa-flattering Scoreline: 3-1 doesn't tell the tale at all. It would have been nice to make it 4 or 5 when they were down to 10, and really we should have. We came very close to be fair, at least until...

The Ugly

  • Howard: Utterly woeful. Come on mate, you've had nothing to do all game. You've been paid 10s of thousands this week to do nothing but be ready for a speculative shot. It swerved yes, I know. It swerved all the way into the f*cking middle, you tit. Poor.

every time i see Gibson's name on here it looks like it says 'the gibson'. That would be a pretty cool name to have though. He is 'the gibson'

missed out gibbo being totally dominant and unlucky not to grab a goal himself, but everything else is spot on. very happy with coleman's two cameos atm. happy if he can do that when he gets his chances, because tbh they're going to be limited. jelavic was great for me, has more than just goalscoring ability which is massive to us

David Moyes on Everton's 3-1 win at Aston Villa: "We created quite a few chances before we scored and I was beginning to worry. I'm a bit disappointed we didn't score one or two more.

"I'd like to add to the squad if I could because it is a bit light. But if your squad's light then it gives the youngsters a chance and we are a club that gives youngsters a chance. Six points from two games is a good start, particularly when your first two games are Manchester United and Aston Villa away."

hmm, we scored with our first chance after 3 mins, ha. we are a club that gives youngsters a chance, not really under moyes though. ah well, 2 out of two
