Hard to remember in the thick of despair, but Villa are vastly better than us, both terms of players and manager. Most were praying for a mild thrashing rather than a real drubbing. We can’t hold onto a lead against these because they have simply better players and a striker that is clinical.

This is a weird one because it’s not like his subs cost us today.

However, the general mindset of the team has cost us because it’s clear they were all shocked to be 2-0 up and sat back like a lower league team hoping to hang on in a cup tie.

Whether that mentality comes from the management or the natural anxiety of the players nobody can know for sure. However, in slight defence of Dyche it’s a mentality that pre dates his time with us.
