When we went 2-0 up i sent a message to my mates that said this match has got 3-2 villa written all over it. That's not hindsight that's what you could see from how the game had gone to that point. We scored two goals totally against the run of play. Dyches substitutes stank of needing premier experience rather than the right man for the job hence garner out of position for first goal and don't get me started on the clown Keane. All together too predictable.

12 minutes in, I nearly switched it off. We hadn’t had a kick of the ball, Villa were dominating and cutting through us at will. Keane was at centre back. A Spurs-like pasting was inevitable.

I held on. We go 1-0 up. Completely against the run of play, so I expect an instant response from Villa.

More domination of the ball but we somehow grab a second. 2-0 now and I start believing.

DCL is getting joy out of their centre backs, we seem to be creating a few half chances on the counter attack. COYB.

Michael Keane decides to swoop to head the ball away. He is honestly the worst defender I’ve seen in a blue jersey. Pickford terrified of anything aerial across the 6 yard box. As soon as they go 2-1, I knew it was over.

2-2 miscued clearance from Harrison straight to the opposition striker.

As soon as DCL missed the 1v1, you’re waiting for Villa’s third. A screamer.

The mentality muppets. Dyche, Keane, Pickford, Young et al, completely bricking themselves and we throw away a 2 goal lead for the second game in a row.

Don’t know where we go from here.

Yet again, we did ok. Did Dyche get it wrong again? Do we go 2-0 up and simply defend it? Make the changes straight away, go 5 at the back and take N’Diaye off for Mangala or Doucoure?

What I can’t get my head around is our unluckyness….

1) Keane tries a diagonal, no need at all, loses the ball, they cross it, between Pickford and Keane, they mess up, Villa score.

2) Dom has a 1 on 1, for 3-1, messes up.

3) Harrison, who is somehow playing right back, miss controls the ball, low and behold, right to their man, a yard out, for a tap in, I would argue the play was offside as Harrison wouldn’t of gone for the ball had Digne not been battling him for it.

4) we have a chance to go 3-2 up. The ball in fizzed across goal, Dom slides, inches away

5) Their sub striker gets the ball and strikes it from thirty yards. A worldy goal.

6) chance for 3-3. Dom gets it, this time he does actually shoot, beats the keeper but it hits the bar, but it doesn’t fall back out for a tap in noooooo, it bounces back past everyone and Villa clear.

The facts are we are just so unlucky. Bournemouth didn’t have a shot on target until the 86th minute and they beat us 3-2, it’s crazy. The fact we have scored goals in these games and threw 2 x 2 goal leads away is so annoying.

Keane should not be playing.
We should of bought a left and right back.
Pickford is becoming a Dracula, scared of crosses.
The defence needs a long hard look at themselves.
Conceding 3.25 goals per game isn’t unlucky

That was mistake 1, when will we learn as Everton supporters. Genuinely it was very clear at 0-2 we were going for lose 3-2. We can't keep hold of the ball, defence is shocking and midfield may aswell stay in the dressing room. Villa have a manager who always seems to get it right with subs aswell.

Every game has moments like these.

Every single game.

Only rubbish teams like Southampton and ourselves depend on these moments going your way all the time in order to get a point or three.

When superior players (Branthwaite) return to the starting lineup that's when the team won't be dependant on these moments going their way.

Hopefully it won't be too late.

How the two teams have gone down different paths since 2022 - absolutely outrageous that they're now in the Champions League and are bringing players off their BENCH that would be amongst the best players we've had in years - Maatsen, Duran, Buendia. Barkley and Philogene would instantly come in and revolutionise our starting eleven as well, that's how bad we are.

Watching it back again this morning, we don't even need Branthwaite back to solve the problems. If Dyche had started O'Brien instead of Keane at CB, and played Dixon at RB, then neither of Villa's first two goals would have existed.
