I still had Everton thoughts and needed to get them out. It detracts from my already very limited material for previews so they'll be getting swerved unless were either dead boss or pure gash. Nice one lid.

I absolutely loved when we went 2 up, and I could just sit back, relax, and watch Everton take the p*ss out of Villa on their own turf.
More away days like this please.
I'd rather we had someone who done ace match reports but I suppose the internet is flooded with them.
I was still nervous at 2-0 up even with three minutes left. Only at 3-0 do I enjoy Everton play mate. Pah.

QF in 67, 2 up lost 3-2 late winner, stopped us doing final 66 (winners ), semi 67, final 68, semi 69 league winners 70 semi 71.

You know, I've got no memory of that match. Funny, really, because I remember how devastated I was when City beat us in
the 1969 semi-final.
I checked two or three times in case I heard wrong the first time. How desperate is that?

Cried my eyes out at forest score because was still buzzing from promise if we got through I would be going having missed out in 66.
Went to semi and final in 68. Beating Leeds was my point of no return as an evertonian. WBA a was sign of pain to come. Awful day in every way. Like a morgue in car on way home from villa park after the city semi. Tommy booth very late winner. There really is nothing like a defeat in FA semi. They were such really big occasions then and it was pretty rare for teams to go to runs of them. Incredible to think it took us from 66 to 84 to win it again.
