The one thing that I don't like about Rafael is he does not let us know about the fitness of players. I know all about not allowing other teams any advanced notice but I think he goes to far keeping everything to himself.

Dunno mate, not really. They're doing that much testing and as we know fully vaxed you're only like 60% protected against infection.

It's a weird one though. Personally think Everton should make it mandatory for all players to be on the safe side, but we genuinely just don't know their status.

Yeah they are doing the close contact thing, but God knows how they come up with it.

It's either COVID, which is uncontrollable, or we've managed to injure four key players in the space of a day, and Benitez is still too arrogant to put James on the bench.

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and go with COVID for now

The NFL is doing a similar thing and they've not had anything resembling an outbreak despite breakthrough cases. I just can't see this without having unvaccinated guys. So close contacts is probably part of it but how is Pickford in but not the other goalies if they're doing that? Just doesn't make sense.

So I'm leaning toward injuries in which case WTF?

I think he'll do a job for us with his physique and experience; he has a decent(ish) record in the league too. However, he's definitely enjoyed the buffet.
