Whenever I watch Holgate I always feel like him giving away a penalty is just around the corner. Opposition forwards seem to know to target him. He brings a lot of qualities but always has a penalty in him.

Wouldn’t downplay Villa. Poor result first game of the season but Gerrard will demand a response in front of the home crowd. Can’t see us grabbing the 3 points without a decent striker and the jury is still out on this team away from home. Would take the point.

I agree 1st game at home will be a tough gig, their fans will be up for it.. I’m hopeful of a draw with the inclusions at the back, maybe 3 with a bit of luck.

My these days' general inconsideration toward sport, lend me disinclination toward giving a monkey's about Everton results...but I suspect we'll lose this handily. And I won't be awake to watch it...nor care.
I just don't really care any more.

Hard to see more than a point under the circumstances, coupled with a decent performance it would be acceptable.

We seem to have saved our worst efforts for this fixture.

If could could grab a lead it would be interesting to see how Villa held up, with the talk of unrest there.
