There's nothing wrong with singing all match, but it's not for everyone

Suggesting supporters are somehow bad people for wanting to just sit down and watch the bloody match when they've paid their money to be there just strikes me as a tad unreasonable

Like they have some moral obligation or something

I like a chant and I regularly stand and sing throughout away games. But I'd never look down on someone who didn't want to do that

Maybe you're elderley and can't do it with comfort?
Maybe you're shy in that sort of situation?
Maybe you just want to relax and enjoy the atmos quietly?

The original lad saying it was "apalling", when he likely wasn't even there and was watching the match on an illegal stream, just cooked my scones at the end of the day

The away games have improved a considerable amount now. Everyone needs to keep standing and getting behind the side, no atmosphere without standing. In terms of the home games, everyone from the pillars back in GT4 should be standing every game then other sections for more important games. There are just too many people happy to sit there and moan in the Gwladys for the whole end to be standing. I tried making a twitter account to promote a standing section, but I got shot down straight away. "You're a kopite", "you're an embarrassment" was the constant reply. Some people want to sit down, fair enough but so somewhere where that's a guarantee. The Gwladys is the singing bit, basically ever side in the prem has a section where people stand bar us (and fulham). Something needs to change, someone has to grab it by the neck and get Goodison going again.

You pointed out all the main points then at the end said "someone needs to grab it by the neck" it won't get done that way, we HAVE to grab it by the neck ourselves and not wait for someone else to. Otherwise we'll be havin this Convo in two years.
 

The atmosphere at Goodison isn't any different to any other Prem team at home.

Goodison has & is capable of special nights. It's because they only happen when they're needed that makes them special.

If you eat chocolate cake every day of your life, you soon get sick of chocolate cake.

The atmosphere has always been the same for any normal home game & is nearly always governed by how well the team plays. Songs to start with, a lull, excitement as the team creates, Allez Allez Oh, half time, 2nd half with team attacking the Gwladys Street increases the tempo, we're the worlds greatest team that's ever been seen, Allez Allez Oh, and it's Ever-ton, Ever-ton FC, final whistle, we've won, job done.

I think it depends where you sit as well. When I've managed to go up this season, I sit main stand and the atmosphere from the side nearest the park end isn't brilliant but apart from that, I think it's alright and I still think the roar when Z Cars comes on is hairs on the back of your neck stuff. I think until we bring back standing the atmosphere at any game at any ground isn't going to be great.

I agree fella, but like I said, I tried and got shot down. So I thought "why bother?", it's almost impossible to get what a lot of people want because some people are hell bent against an atmosphere for some ridiculous reason.
 
Would be fantastic if we had a safe standing section on the 'E, F, C', would be too close to the pitch and too intimidating for it not to shake the opposition in my opinion.
 

@Oviedo37 it is progress and most are now aware of what is happening so at the West Ham we will assess it then and see if there's been much change, if nothing then I am prepared to get leaflets printed and hand them out around the stadium 2 hours before kick off.

Not sure if flyers would really make any difference to be honest.

People will sing if they're up for it. The bigger the game the noisier it will be. Without the club introducing standing areas i think it will be as it is. Nothing much the average fan can do about it without getting a few mates together and starting off songs throughout.
