Sorry don't agree with the first line. If that was a penalty or a red card, than every ball hitting the hand or arm in the penaly area (accidently or not) should be a penalty. Make the sure the same rules are applied to everyone.

Well you don't have to agree with it mate, but it's within the laws of the game.

Of course not, but its still within the laws of the game. Harry Kewell prevented the ball going into the goal using his upper arm. Penalty and Red Card. No arguments really.

The argument for me is if that was outside of the box then it probably wouldn't have been given.

Neville got sent off against the [Poor language removed] a few years ago for similar, fair call really.

I think if you purposely use a hand or arm to stop a goal as an outfield player then a red card is justified, its that grey area of purpose that causes the grey area.

Hence why a handball, any handball should only be applied if the ball hits the arm below the elbow.

Compare that handball to vidic's and that tell me what you think of that decision.

Handball at the moment is handball, no matter how it occurs. Outcome still the same.

He handled the ball mate, don't think the ref had any other decision to make.

What they should do though is change the handball rule. If you handle the ball below the elbow then that's handball, above its not. To be honest I cant believe this hasn't been suggested before.

Have you really just suggested that controlling the ball with your arms above the elbow should be allowed? You realise that not only would that mean it was ok to make a massive ******* bucket to receive a high ball, but also that you could trap the ball between your arms and your chest and hold it there and just run to the goal with the ball not touching the floor? GHOST? DO YOU UNDERSTAND THIS?

I cannot believe the referee just insulted Schwarzer by giving a goal kick when he just pulled off one of the saves of the tournament....

Think it was a big difference between the two. Neville's one was more like a goalkeepers dive, where as this shot hit (accidently as I call it) upper arm. Certainly not a fan of Kewell, but honestly believe he was hard done by.

Like I said earlier. It's within the laws of the game. The fact that not all ref's give it is irrelevant.

No one wants to hear from a yank thats only watched football for a few years, but hte red card system has to go. Man gets sent off, fine, but if a team has subs left, they should be able to bring a man back on...if no subs then play with 10.

Well obviously common sense should prevail, but Kewell was hard done by because he hasn't made an attempt to stop the ball with his hand, its his upper arm and its harder to control that part of your body.

Yeah good idea, and maybe we should have 4 quarters and 25 refs?

How can that ref not play any added time?

Isn't it 30 seconds per goal? And how about the whole sending off and protests, isn't that added time either?
