Transfer Rumour Axel Witsel

Mate, that's all nonsense.

Do you really think he will be hanging around for a team he has no affiliation with, to take 4/5 years to build a new stadium ??

As soon as another club show interest in 2 years time....he will be off to who offers the most wages.

This idea that players go to other clubs for 'Greed' but come to us for the 'Love of the project, and glorious history' is laughable.

It's greed and shiney cups.....that's it, nothing else........

If Esk says we have got a deal for him, we have a deal for him.

BUT if our own fans didn't get all clickbait for every single piece of Everton news, this won't have been blown up to 280 odd pages.

He comes back on hols Thursday, let him get his laundry done, cut his hair, grab a flight and medical done for Friday.

CHILL YOUR BOOTS!

You have a very cynical world view my friend.

Look at his career, Liege, Benfica and the backwater of Zenit. Everton are a bigger club than the lot combined and to have the chance to be party, not just of the history, but the future (combined with a nice wedge we can offer) would be enough for, I suspect, all but the top 10-15% of the best players in Europe.

Maybe I'm looking at this from my blue tinted specs resting on my blue nose but as part of negotiations they should get the player in a room for half an hour 5 fans and it would convince him, the passion, the love, the future, the EVERTON FAMILY. Who wouldn't want to be a part of it?

Current players don't care about that mate, im not sure Everton winning titles in the 80's has anything to do with Axel Witsel signing for us.

It will be about money and CL football.
The money is potentially very similar depending on which article you look at. I assumed that we would blow Napoli out of the water regarding wages.

However many are suggesting Italian wages are quoted net of tax & that his supposed offer is £60k we are offering £120k however that nets out at £63k per week.

hopefully if we do want him this is not true as regardless of tax if we are offering double Napoli
Then champions league or not surely he would choose us.

I think, and with total respect, that some Evertonians have forgotten that the reason we are seeing so many links, so many made up stories and ultimately so many things not happening is that we have moved into a new era where some people are able to make a little bit of extra money here and there by driving traffic to their site. Or a lot of money if they are a name (newspaper for example). The way to do this is to have 'a scoop' or to make a controversial point. The DM does this all the time, a fairly outrageous headline, and one that makes the viewer on Twitter and such be outraged and so click on the link, go to the site (cash: IN for DM) and then go write some furious comment. The exercise is complete, they have their money. Then, other sites or accounts will promote the story for their own benefit, but with the DM link so the money being generated carries on for the DM. Then rehash, new story and it never ends. The fans should be wise to this. It's like a huge cauldron of nonsense being churned around, yet the nonsense sometimes is so agonsingly poised that perhaps a tiny percent of you believes it. It's quite easy to make money this way. There is much more BS being published than one would think.
Good post.... cauldron of nonsense, nice way to describe things

Its this, massively.

Napoly fans are amongst the most passionate in World Football.

Im a realist mate.

If we are so great and special....then why have we not had a chance for him before ???

He will go to who pays him the most, and if that team can win a cup and play CL, then a bonus.

The key part is that Kristof, being the most reliable journo out there IMO, has said that the clubs haven't agreed.

Where has this changed from yesterday? It hasn't as Zenit have never changed their stance.

@The Esk are you still hopeful of us signing him this week mate?

By the looks of it, wages offered are similar, if that's true, then the CL thing will prob be the deciding factor..... well that of the fact that we were the first team to have under-soil heating!!!!

The Esk is laying his reputation on the line. If Witzel and Mata don't happen, his credentials will be seriously questioned from here on in.

Personally I wouldn't risk it mate, it's not worth the aggro you're going to get. If people want info, make them private message you for it.
