Transfer Rumour Axel Witsel

Footballers fall into 2 categories, money or success.

A good example of money is Lukaku, when he commented that his agent will decide where he plays next. Expect no loyalty from him unless you pay the most.

Witsel's past suggests he's cut from the same cloth. He's obviously happy to play in England or Italy otherwise he wouldn't have agents looking in those areas, think even Zenith said it will be one or the other.

As long as they do the business on the field, nobody cares. But even if we win the league, expect these guys to continually pimp themselves for the next big deal.

And why shouldn't they? It's not as if they're born Evertonians, it's a career for them

I don't have an issue with a player making noises in the media, say in the scenario of having a year left on a contract. Lukaku has 3 years left and in the period between the end of the season and the start of the Euros it seemed he was mouthing off every other day about wanting to leave Everton.

We all got the point. Mirallas seemed to like airing his "lost in translation" opinions regularly too. I just hope with Witsel there won't be an obvious Belgian clique that is a focal point for a quick interview with a journalist from home everytime something goes wrong. Belgians and their fathers seem to have too much to say, another reason why their national team continue to flatter to deceive.

The other thing to consider is that the situation at everton has changed. With the new money and hopefully new stadium the players should feel the club is moving forward and not tredding water as we appear to have been for a number of years.

In the recent past the good performing players at everton expected the club would sell to create a budget for the manager to buy a couple of new players.

Has Witsel only got 1 year left on his contract at Zenit? If so, he could, if he really wants to, just sit tight at Zenit and leave at end of next season. No fee for Zenit and worlds his oyster. The more this window drags on the stronger his position with Zenit becomes. So whilst we may have made the best offer as of now, it makes sense for him to stall as much as can if it means he gets to have more say where he ends up.

Everton don't do 'lucky' Friend.

The online store would disagree.

Would look good on Axel I'm sure.

Everton is not here to wait for the ditching Axel forever. If he is not keen to come that's fine I am sure someone good is willing to join this project.

They have every right, I was just pointing out that we need to expect more of this going forward. It seems the norm for the higher level of player.

But there are those that are loyal, as much as its not a hardship being paid by Everton, who will be Evertonians. We hoped Rooney would be, my personal opinion is that I think Ross is. Leighton showed his colours when he turned down United. So there is hope.

Had to laugh this morning hearing on the news that Chelsea had signed Konte, quoting the player banging on about it being his dream move. They never learn do they.
