Transfer Rumour Axel Witsel

So why agree personal terms with the players agent? Doesn't make any sense

Witsel has an Italian intermediary, Marseglia who is authorised by Witsel's agent to deal exclusively for Witsel in Italy. So he's been travelling the length and breadth of Italy trying to pull deals together. Zenit would not deal with Napoli and Inter can't afford him.

No-one matched our price to Zenit and terms offered to Witsel.

I wonder who he actually wants to play for not his various agents; that's the mystery question.
If it was us surely he'd be here by now, the offer has been on the table for a while.
It looks like hes weighing up his options and it will be us if nobody else comes in

This was my thinking. If we offer the most money and he wanted us then he'd be here and would sack his Italian intermediary. I'm thinking maybe he's waiting for someone bigger to come along.

Odd. What's the point of doing contracts when these Italian teams cannot even agree a fee with Zenit in the first place...

Secondly, I don't understand the motive behind all these jarg Italian press. Maybe just need some jarg football news on their papers everyday?

Like the lads said, if Witsel really wants to join Everton he would have signed by now.

I would guess it is because the top Italian teams are a known quantity to him, whereas us, despite the stuff we know about, maybe hasnt registered as deeply as we would hope.

Or maybe, as someone said a few posts ago, he is a numpty footballer who believes everything his advisers/agent tells him.

like ive always said. i will not be dissaoppoinrted to lose this mercenary. thats what he is im afraid. money grabber rather than a team player.

and by going on what ive read about steve walsh, i doubt its the sort of player he would go after.

shniederlin would be a much better fit, IF we could get him

So you believe that the reports coming out of Italy stating that his Father has agreed terms with Inter on a 5 year deal are completely Jarg?

Wish we'd just forget about this melt...he obviously thinks he's bigger than us....pay huge wages to someone better I say... he'll live to regret it when we do an 80's re-run:pint2:

His dad is his agent. Marseglis is his agent. How many agents he needs...We offered Zenit the most money. Can't see them accept a much lower fee from the Italian.
