Transfer Rumour Axel Witsel

Absolutely no idea what is going on with this, or any, transfer.

I think he'd be a decent addition. Plenty of experience and the right age. We don't have many players in midfield coming into their prime.

*shrug* There's nothing quite like a thread ban first thing in the morning. When I'd finished my porridge there was definitely a Witsel shaped mark made out of porridge entrails in the bottom of the bowl. It's on.

What is going on???!!!! It's widely reported that we've agreed a fee and people are getting bans on here. I'm going back to bed, it's like I've woken up hammered.

I'm not so sure. There's an astonishing number of mercenaries out there who are totally in it for the money. Let's not forget he's currently in the Russian league, rather well known to pay over the odds to secure players, Russia not exactly being a country folk normally flock to.

If he signs a contract here then I firmly believe he's been offered enough compensation. That's my position on this guy.
If you had a company from Russia come to you with a job offer to double the wage that you're currently making I'm sure you'd find it bloody hard to turn down mate.

I think Zenit would've been a really appealing move got him. They qualify for the Champions League almost every season and gave him a real chance of winning trophies. At the time he moved to Zenit there wouldn't have been many sides playing in a higher league that would promise him Champions League every season, win trophies yet still garuntee him a starting spot in their team every week and to be a key figure in that team.

The Everton Football club now has money and we will use that money as a way to bring players into the club. It's something most of us haven't experienced before and something we have all often complained about when it's our players leaving us to get those bigger contracts. Do you think Koeman and Walsh would've signed at the club before we had the money made available from Moshiri? As long as anyone that comes into our great club gives 100% on the field for us everything time they put on the royal blue of Everton then I don't mind what the real reason was that made them sign for us.

He's currently rocking and shaking in mod central so won't be visiting this thread for a few days mate. It's ok, @roydo 's giving him a hug so all will be well. That Witsel though...
Sake. Yeah classy player but sounds like he has too many talking heads around him. Will have to just wait and see

Triple it and I'd think about it. Russia kind of sucks as a place to live. Full of Russians I hear.

Your opening paragraph says it all though. Money rules, simple as that.

And then your last line - if someone signs purely for money, how can you have any real hope they'll give you 100%?
